    The rancher story really resonated with me. I love how they portray the loneliness that she feels on a daily basis. It is certainly weighing on her and yet she maintains her routine.     I kind of like the idea of a committee of your peers holding you accountable for being a bit of a fuck-up. That is if they at least care like Vostryakova seemed to. I believe that she had some standards that Katya Snegireva probably could have borrowed. I had no idea what she saw in Afanasy. Maybe a shared interest of fixing things.

    What initially caught my attention was the camera work and sound design. The first scene of him eating that sausage up close was probably the most uncomfortable moment for me, in a good way. The cuts between the close ups of his eyes and those of the women made me anxious. The whole atmosphere of the coffee shop scene I thought was a good way of showing his grandiose view of himself assuming that all eyes were always on him…
