    Dear Evan Hansen

#DearEvanHansen is everything I wanted, and then some. As I sat in an auditorium full of sniffles, I knew I wasn’t alone. And as I sat frozen in my seat in the end, I knew I had seen one of the most beautiful and moving movies of the year, and also one of my favorites.

    Bo Burnham: Inside

In Bo Burnham: Inside, Bo Burnham crafts a surrealist and heartbreaking exploration into the deteriorating mental state that many people experienced during the "Pandemic Era." Here, Burnham is at his most vulnerable and creates a funny but personal look of some of the worst parts of this past year. Bo Burnham: Inside is an artistic masterpiece that will make you laugh, cry, andΒ truly reflect over the "Pandemic Era" as a whole.

I usually only give ratings to movies and not specials or series, but this one deserves it.Β

    Don't Look Up

#DontLookUp is a political satire/thriller that puts Adam McKay back to the top of his game. A beautiful mix of comedy, drama, and horror that allows McKay to showcase his talents across a vast multitude of genres. Mark Rylance is the standout for me as a tech genius hell bent on the expansion on life as we know it. Nicholas Britell is another highlight delivering the best score of his career, and the year.

    Relevant, funny, and horrifying.

  • Encanto

I definitely prefer the first half over the second, but nevertheless this is still a fun and magical film. Lin-Manuel Miranda, miraculously, went 4/4 this year, and I just hope and pray he gets his PEGOT; he deserves it.

    Zack Snyder's Justice League

Zack Snyder’s Justice League isn’t perfect but it’s a thrilling, exciting, and fun film nonetheless.Β Snyder’s vision is a flawed, but enjoyable one that should satisfy Snyder fans, DC fans, and comic book fans alike. It is able to find its own footing apart from the 2017 version and it’s miraculous that this 4-hour epic is able to work this well.

Andrew might have my performance of the year. And this might be my favorite musical of the past 20 years.
