Rachel Malstrom’s review published on Letterboxd:
I have already written two reviews of Dazed and Confused. It should come as no surprise that Dazed and Confused is one of my favorite movies. I don't have too much to say about it at the moment, so I will just discuss in conversation with the Unspooled Podcast episode.
I feel like the main thing Paul and Amy discussed was the phenomenal casting and how these actors were really able to embody a fully realized character. They also discussed how Linklater was really trying to make something sad here, but I agree with Amy, I would love to hangout in this movie. Sure, Dazed and Confused is about frustrated and directionless teens and rigid high school hierarchy, but it is also seeped in good times, fun friendships, and great tunes.
Would I put Dazed and Confused on the list to blast into space? Yep! Especially if we want to send a hangout, plotless type film, this would be my pick. It is also my pick of a movie taking place in a single day, unless we all agree to consider Wet Hot American Summer, because that movie is a masterpiece too.
