I mean maybe it was just my mood at the time (last night of vacation, 1 am, relaxed and chilled, looking for a smile)... I found the movie funny. I laughed at pretty much every segment. And I don't usually love scatalogical humor. But I have read and enjoyed my share of Rabelais. So maybe that is the connection. The overall framework isn't great. But it's far from the worst movie ever.

It's pretty remarkable to see this footage. It's only the fifth Olympics and the first in which we have footage. It's amazing how similar the competitions look to today. I mean that more in what the competitors do rather than how it is shot. It's interesting to see some of the competitions that no longer exist in the Olympics. Men's gymnastic teams is hilarious. Biggest changes in High Jump and Pole Vault. Remarkable to see women competing.

(The "forgetting" of this event is a perfect storm of racism and capitalism ignoring the non-dominant…

This one again doesn't hide its politics; therefore, many people will hate this movie. The story is structured so that it can comment on contemporary politics. My issue with the movies in this series is that it doesn't have the government/system act very realistically. Ultimately, this entire film series springs from an ugly part of human nature. Although, we can have those feelings, as a species we need each other more than we want to destroy each other.
