Vital ★★★½

Definitely one of Shinya Tsukamoto's tamest films, also happens to be one of his most heart-wrenching because of it. Quite the metaphor for trauma and how isolating dealing with grief can be, Vital plays the audience, (and particularly fans of the director's work) by either foreshadowing something shocking or cyberpunk, only to then give quite a bittersweet ending. Again, if you don't mind the lacking of a creature-cybernetic-feature or the numerous red herrings, Vital is quite the mood piece one should see.
