Film Programmer & Stallone Enthusiast. You know that movie you love? I probably think it's fine.
"I don't know what the fuck is going on, but I'm into it."
"I don't know what the fuck is going, but I don't like it."
"Thanks, I hated it."
What a missed opportunity. And I like grotesque body horror. But this was like a bunch of movies in one with almost no follow-through on any of them. A lot of missing pieces, IMO. If I really think about it, it's probably the worst movie I've seen all year.
Really fun, gory kills (when they happen), but the townsfolk were fucking idiots & I was rooting for Michael. A lot of stupid decisions were made by everyone. This did not feel like an up-to-par (script- or budget-wise) sequel & JLC was criminally underutilized. Last few seconds bummed me out though, so well done there. But much of the film was...kinda boring. (Sorry... 😬)
I've never been a HALLOWEEN franchise stan, so take my review with a large grain of salt.
(...but are we just going with Michael-as-Jason now? Is he a revenant?)
