    His Trysting Places

No babies were harmed during the filming of this short, although it's a wonder given the way Chaplin's character carries on in His Trysting Places. The way he flings his son about, places him near a fiery stove, and lets him play with an actual handgun, he definitely wouldn't have been winning any "Father of the Year" awards. In his autobiography, Mack Sennett wrote that Charlie, "preceded W.C. Fields by many years with scenes in which he got laughs by…

I think someone left the milk out in the sun too long, because this was off.

Gunpowder Milkshake has an amazing cast. Karen Gillan played one of my favourite Doctor Who characters, Amy Pond, and it's been great to see her go on from that to Hollywood success. "This time Marty McFly doesn't know if he's coming or going ... and his future is really up in the air."

In truth this trades a lot on the glory of its predecessor, but struggles to be as effective due to its far more complicated plot and all the machinations going on over the three different time periods and involving duplicates of numerous characters. Even as a huge fan of the trilogy, I've always found parts of this too long-winded…
