Directorial debut of the talented Na Hong-jin, who brings to the stage a macabre and violent thriller, inspired in part by the murders in Korea by a ferocious serial killer, in a similar way to how Bong Joon-ho did with his masterpiece “Memories of murders”.

Here the director creates a raw work, where good and bad are mixed, in a varied and realistic Seoul, with a very careful look at the social and in particular at the problems  of the…

In 1980, Deodato shoots this violent rape & revenge in the wake of the cult "The Last House on the Left" by Wes Craven, from which is it taken the main actor David Hess , also here  in a great actor prove.

The film is a brutal home invasion, built very well through the inclusion of many psychologically disturbing scenes, others erotic and others sadistic, with a beautiful and evocative soundtrack by Riz  Ortolani.
Deodato again explores the violence and cynicism inside man, presenting a group of characters (belonging to different social classes), where nobody are good nor bad, only beasts.

James Wan after a parenthesis in action (Fast and Furios, Acquaman) finally returns to horror, again amazes the viewer thanks to a subject and has a very original and unconventional script.

What Wan does is mix various genres such as spirit horror, 80's Slasher and "Saw" style crime thriller, the result is completely convincing, and it is even more so in the splendid final plot twist.
Something in the script doesn't fit perfectly, but the film is a breath of fresh air for the
    genre and for Wan's career

    Raw, violent, scurrilous,
James Gunn with this film manages to do what he was not yet able to do completely, combine the superheroistic Blockbuster with the authorship of an author coming from the splatter and gore, the result that comes out is one of the best superhero films of the past 20 years.
The script is completely anarchic but at the same time brilliant, visually the film is of a rare beauty, and the main characters are magnificent from the…
