Fritz Lewis’s review published on Letterboxd:
The second teaser for my film, Take Me Out.
If you aren't following me on Twitter or Instagram, you probably don't know much about the nature of this story and the process I've had with this film.
To keep it brief, it's taken up my life for the past year and has remained to be one of the only things that's given me a purpose to keep going.
I shot last summer, wrapped, got stuck in post after a few rough cuts because I wanted to change the ending. Took breaks, developed even more editing blocks. Finally picturelocked in March, got the sound mixed in April, color graded in May, and then wrapped the Final Cut at the end of that month.
For the past two months, I've mostly just been getting emails from film festivals saying my film has not been selected.
And I know a thirty minute short film about depression from a first time filmmaker and an unknown cast and crew is hard to program, it is still a little disheartening.
I've been to a few film festivals and I've noticed a pattern of like 10-15 minute long short films with light tones, social commentary, humor and pay-off, and some sort of a gimmick being the recurring theme of all of them, but whatever.
Either way, I hope you enjoy the trailer.
