Scream (5) – 7.5/10
This is the first Scream film that I have seen in the cinema, and I had a great time watching it. It ticks a lot of the boxes that you would expect of a Scream sequel; Self-referential, meta dialogue that is updated based on the current state of cinema. Lots of misdirection to keep you guessing the killer(s) identity. OTT third act killer reveal scenery chewing. Set pieces dripping in tension/suspense.

A Clockwork Orange 4K – 10/10
Warped, unsettling, brutal. The 4K restoration is one of the very best I’ve seen, it’s just a shame they didn’t remaster the sound. I had completely forgotten just how mad some of the supporting performances are. Patrick Magee’s ‘Hector Salamanca’ death stare being a highlight.
In comparison to today’s standards, the stuff Kubrick put his actors through was verging on evil. He would no doubt be cancelled immediately these days. Which is why I…
Ghost Stories - 8/10
A well written, finely crafted British horror film which is genuinely creepy. It feels like such a long time since we've had a film like this. I think any horror enthusiast who grew up on 70's/80's horror will enjoy it.
There are a few splashes of dark humour here and there and the casting is superb. Paul Whitehouse was a particularly inspired piece of casting. He is such a talented character actor. I would love to…
Avengers: Infinity War - 9/10
The most impressive juggling act of all time. It should be a convoluted, overly-busy mess but it has obviously been meticulously planned by the Russo's. This is without doubt one of the most ambitious blockbusters ever made and every single risk they've taken has paid off.
Its almost impossible for a superhero film to deviate too much from the often complained about, predictable template. On paper, infinity war is the same old story of a…
