• Prometheus

The Ridley Scott discourse yesterday was fucking boring tbh, but this film definitely isn't. One of the most wild sci-fi pictures of the last ten years.

I mean, fuckin hell, that C-section is still one of the most gruesome things I've seen in a major Hollywood movie!

  • Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner

    Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner

One of the best Making Of docs, Lauzirika doesn't mess around.

  • Blade Runner 2049

    Blade Runner 2049

    "Her eyes were green..."

One of THE great sequels, Blade Runner 2049 just gets better and better each time I've seen it.

I have a feeling that this works so damn well because they brought Hampton Fancher back to write the screenplay. The man is a whirlwind of ideas and the world of Blade Runner is clearly near and dear to him. More than pleased that he came back here.

The cast is uniformly fantastic but Harrison Ford really is…

  • Soldier

Pretty cool stuff from Anderson. Russell is terrific as a man of few words and the action is unsurprisingly top-notch.

  • Blade Runner

    Blade Runner

"I'm not in the business, I am the business."

  • Predators

Pretty cool movie that's essentially a remake of the original! Worth watching for the Samurai Showdown sequence.

  • End of Days

    End of Days

    One of my favorite movies.

Schwarzenegger is so damn good in this, playing against type and he's matched by a delightfully over the top Gabriel Byrne as the Dark Prince. Peter Hyams doesn't mess around and made two of my go-to 90s films with this and The Relic.

  • The Predator

    The Predator

The action is cool, gore is on point, and Olivia Munn kicks all sorts of ass. Still a total blast that has one of the dumbest endings I've seen.

A good time tho, I love this cast, especially Tom Jane and Jacob Tremblay.

  • Aliens vs Predator: Requiem

    Aliens vs Predator: Requiem

Hahahaha this movie is so fucked up. They kill kids, women in labor, and whole familes.

A suburban slasher with Predators and Aliens thrown into the mix? Hell yeah. Some great kills, disposable characters, and cool effects.

I love this mean-spirited, evil movie.

  • Batman & Robin

    Batman & Robin

Absolutely love this camptastic movie. The fact that Schumacher had to apologize for it to all the angry nerds is beyond upsetting.

Also LMAO that there's more sexuality in even one scene here than 90% of comic book movies since.

  • AVP: Alien vs. Predator

    AVP: Alien vs. Predator

Hadn't seen this since it came out and I'm so happy I watched it again!

Along with Freddy vs Jason it was one of the major movie fights I had always wanted to see. Just as ridiculous as I'd hoped and it holds up thanks to the killer action and smart mix of practical and CGI effects. Essentially a proto-Prometheus with less lofty goals in its storytelling. Add in a dash of Lovecraft ala Mountains of Madness, and AvP might be one of Anderson's best this side of Event Horizon.

A badass matchup that I've grown to love.

  • Stay Hungry

    Stay Hungry

Bob Rafelson, King of the Hangout Movie? He just might be.

Lots of vibes and very little plot made this one extremely enjoyable. Jeff Bridges is terrific opposite Sally Field, they have great chemistry. Schwarzenegger is a delight as a body-builder with a heart of gold, really impressing in his first major role. Also hey Robert Englund is in this and he's an absolute hoot! Fun seeing Freddy as the little wormy guy.

Really dug this and could easily see myself revisiting it on the regular.
