    I forgot you can’t see a Wes Anderson movie opening weekend in LA without audiences tripping over themselves to guffaw at every joke. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of good jokes, but everyone here sure loves to let you know they get it. Not much to get imo! Just a bunch of cute line readings. LA needs to chill out.

    Thought the movie was very pretty and very fine. Will revisit and probably like it much more when I’m in a better mood. It’s a me problem. All good. Very happy Jeffrey Wright found a director that lets him go freak mode.

    If you live in LA and want to see Minari during its one week Oscar-qualifying run, you can go to the 8:30pm showing at the Mission Tiki Drive-In and you will be told you can pay for a full price ticket, but the last 30 minutes of the movie will not be shown in accordance with the 10:00pm state curfew and then you can ask one of the employees why they would even show it if they have to cut it off and they will say, “honestly, I have no idea why they’re doing this. it’s weird” and then you can drive home mad.
