Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie are amazing and definitely the highlights of the film, and Brittany Murphy is great as well. I like how the movie conveys Susanna´s mental state with its editing and I really enjoyed the strong theme of friendship and damaged people finding solace in each other. “Girl, Interrupted” has major “One Flew over the Cuckoo´s Nest” vibes, though it never comes close to that film´s brilliance. Nevertheless, it´s a moving and empathetic look at mental illness and life in a mental institution. Not a groundbreaking film, but worth your time.
