there were several points during Hereditary where I thought to myself “I don’t want to do this anymore I don’t want to do this anymore I don’t want to do this anymore,” which is extremely high praise. This was so impeccably made, and I love how Ari Aster couldn’t give a shit about pandering to the audience. I can’t wait to revisit this (in good time) when I’m by myself and I can immerse myself in the terror and trauma without distracting audience members.
