Oh my god. This film. My heart was pounding throughout. This is honest to god one of the best films I’ve ever seen. The diversity of character personality combined with a tense and terrifying plot line makes for one of the best crime thrillers in film.
I usually dislike the crime genre, it’s really not my favourite, but this blew my away. It was an unpredictable display of utter genius. You have to watch this film.

I’m not sure why I loved this film, as nothing really happened throughout its entirety. The characters weren’t at all likeable and the ending was dissatisfying but I adored it none the less. It was one of those satisfying portrayals into simplicity, a group of kids having fun and making new connections in detention. A classic films that has clearly withstood the tests of time.

I was blown away by this film. It’s honestly one of the best films I’ve ever seen. Fast paced and hilarious with a colourful and exciting array of cinematography. Ryan Reynolds was as always hilarious, but the rest of the cast was equally brilliant. I adored the film, and was enthralled by it constantly. There was no boring scene, no moment of mundane conversation. It was consistently enjoyable, fast paced and heart warming. A thoroughly brilliant film.

Sometimes I find it difficult to sit through films more than two hours long, but this was something else. The time flew by with its expertly crafted fast paced action, witty characters and deep woven plot line. The female representation in this film was phenomenal and made a refreshing change in an incredibly male dominated industry. This film made me both laugh and cry, and was everything Scarlett Johansson's notorious character deserved.

  • Saint Maud

This was one of the most horrific films I have ever seen, in the best possible way. A slow paced psychological horror that eats into your brain up until it’s harrowing climax that I still squirm to remember. The film is produced by a24, so it’s no wonder that it was so beautifully disturbing. The cinematography combined with an intricately distorted portrayal of human decay is what made this one of the most influential pieces of horror cinema I have watched.

I enjoyed this film so much, despite nothing really happening it was easy to watch and each scene rolled into the next in a way that made it an effortless watch. Even now, the scares and twists are as chilling as they must have been when it was initially released. The characters are both likeable and horrific, and made for an utterly immersive experience.

I absolutely adore this film, it’s honestly one of the my favourite movies. The cinematography is utterly stunning and the plot line is faultless. I’m a sucker for period drama-romance so maybe that’s the reason I fell in love with this. It’s an absolutely wonderful film and I would recommend it to anyone, fans or beginners to the genre.

I cried my eyes out. It was such a wonderful portrayal of the chaos and imperfections through life and especially through love. It was brilliantly directed and brilliantly acted. I loved it.

This film is hilarious, comedically gory without being over the top. The plot is surprisingly heartwarming, and Ryan Reynolds is, as always, incredible in his role.

  • Star Wars: The Force Awakens

This may be one of my favourite films in the Star Wars series, which is often an unpopular opinion because the older films are regarded as classics. I love the modern nature applied to a well loved universe.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy

A hilarious film, but both the beginning and the end left me in tears. It’s a take of friendship and loss, and the sense of togetherness that develops is overwhelming.
