CIFF Film #5
LETO starts off very strong setting up potentially intriguing characters with fun musical scenes. The energy is high, the editing is stylish, the music is great.
The problem arises when the “plot” kicks in. It aimlessly wanders from their music careers to a romance, but neither of those feel fully developed or explored. They play a gig here and there, two lovers share a kiss, but there’s no depth. This was so frustrating to sit through because of the lack of focus, making the last hour a *slog.*
Thinly written characters + messy plot = a total bore
Music scenes were stunning though.
