Tom Boyd-Hall’s review published on Letterboxd:
I’m not so sure if I’m for Yorgos Lanthimos not writing his films anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved the witty, sharp dialogue present here. It was funnier than any other Lanthimos film, without a doubt, and had a unique charm to it.
It seemed...normal? Still a bit weird, and kinda creepy and unsettling at points, but it was more of a comedy than anything else. And it makes me a bit upset that we may never get the deadpan, awkward and uncomfortable style and dialogue in the other Lanthimos films ever again.
I still loved this film, you can tell by the score I gave it. But I just hope that Yorgos writes some of his other future films, and I also hope he doesn’t...because damn was this great.
