Todd Gaines’s review published on Letterboxd:
Bad reviews are contagious.
I look at Halloween Kills as almost on par with Halloween II. Both stories are very similar with Jamie Lee spending most of both films in a hospital.
The kills are what you would expect. My favorite kill sequence involves a car and a playground. I also liked a very intense Anthony Michael Hall as Tommy Doyle. The fellas have something to do in this one as Will Patton also acts pretty decent.
Halloween Kills takes a nosedive the final 30 minutes. It gets sloppy and lazy. I am also wondering how this trilogy will finish?
I understand the divide, but it is not as bad as some are saying. It is watchable, but there probably isn’t enough in it for me to want to watch it again in the near future.
