This is an inventive hand drawn cartoon that has a loose plot and is strung together through music videos of all genres and styles. Taking place in Flooby Nooby, the song that introduces the place is hilarious and I can’t stop singing it when I walk around. This is a fun one, but others of Plymptoons have more plot and deviate in animation. Great first movie, but the best has yet to come.
Reinventing the narrative of classical Hollywood (probably inspired by the success of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) , a diverse cast sets out to make the first movie about a black girl in 1947. I thought this was an interesting idea, but it seemed to me that everyone is way too easily convinced to do things throughout. Whenever an evil white producer is faced with gatekeeping, they pretty much think about it for 5 seconds and say “I love it”. …
This was so sad. From the Japanese civilian’s perspective of World War 2. I found the little things, the little gestures, the small actions that really made this film shine, not to mention the fireflies. I’ve been meaning to watch more old Anime movies like this, and I’m glad I got the chance to see this with my youngest sister. Hopefully I didn’t scar her too much. Show this to a young child.
