Watched at the Alamo Drafthouse, had a great time watching with a couple of good beers 🍻 I was the only one in my group that liked the movie, lmao. I knew it was gonna be good when my girlfriend asked me 15 minutes in “do you know what’s going on”

The more it sits with me, the more confident I am saying it’s a truly great movie if you go in with patience and the understanding that it’s a…

Rewatching this last night made realize that 1) I did not fully appreciate this on my first watch, 2) this is my favorite Wes Anderson movie, and 3) this is one of my favorite movies period.

This film’s depiction of childhood trauma is second to none. So honest and genuine. Love the symbolism of all their trauma - the BB in Chas’s knuckle, Margot’s missing finger, and Richie’s boiling point after internalizing trauma into adulthood. Also love the symbolism of…

Basically Rogue One for fans of The Sopranos, except it’s actually a good movie.

I fell in love with The Sopranos this year and it became my favorite TV show. While this doesn’t come close to what the show accomplishes, it’s still quite the treat to see the characters from this perspective. Finally meeting Dickie Moltisanti was excellent and seeing Michael Gandolfini follow in his father’s footsteps as one of the greatest characters ever written for the screen got me…

I literally have no idea what to make of this. There’s so many things that I like but I’m not sure if the movie as a whole works together for me. Lots of neat things happening that don’t always seem cohesive to me, lots of weirdness and confusion, and Adam Driver fucking rocks. Would have been a lot better in a movie theater, but no theaters near me play things like this and it wasn’t a great experience at home.

I sure as hell wasn’t expecting it to end the way it did. I was expecting something straight forward, but it was a bit more meditative than I had anticipated. Today it’s a 4.5, and because of that ending I think I will need to rewatch it, so who knows.

    What a Texan ass movie.

I expected a dumpster fire, but was pleasantly surprised. There are some details that are perhaps unpolished but the product as a whole is really good imo. A lot of the CGI is pretty bad but it’s been a part of Snyder’s style for awhile now and it’s mostly an effective use of it, even if it occasionally looks like a 2013 video game. The movie takes itself really seriously which sometimes works against it and becomes unintentionally hella goofy.…
