Trace Sauveur’s review published on Letterboxd:
i actually feel similarly about some of this as I do the most recent AJJ album: it’s difficult to do snarky critique or comedy about the Trump administration without it being obvious and hamfisted, but Trump and the gang also deserved to be skewered which is why I’m willing to forgive some of the more clumsy orange-man-bad stuff in here. especially because I think the rest of it is just as funny and dangerous as ever, even if it’s hard to be quite as subversive and new as the first film was. Cohen still puts himself into some absolutely ludicrous shit here, and Maria Bakalova really pulls her weight as far as getting knee deep in these situations for the sake of the movie. I think it’s worth it alone for how both movies document a downward spiral of american culture and how much we’ve lost our collective sanity. also nothing is funnier than borat voice. VERY NICE!
