Once upon a Tom in Hollywood’s review published on Letterboxd:
You gonna fit two propositions on the same track, run em into each other, and because they crash, you gonna say it's the same train?
Chadwick Boseman really shows off the tremendous range that made him such a special talent. The film, adapted from an August Wilson play and produced by Denzel Washington, certainly has some interesting things to say about the way the recording industry and white people in general treat minority performers, but it didn't really grab my attention until the shocking conclusion. Definitely worth a watch for the Oscar nominated performances from Boseman and Viola Davis. Streaming now on Netflix.
