    Tetsuo: The Iron Man

    ★★★★½

This is gonna be hard to review.

Tetsuo: The Iron Man is a great film. It's a great watch from the perspective of watching it for the horror or its weirdness. The body horror is so good. The effects are great and it's so creative. The main story and its themes are about a person known simply as The Salaryman becoming more machine than man. It's like Eraserhead (which this movie takes a lot of inspiration from) in that you…

    What's Up, Doc?

    ★★★★

What's Up Doc? is a homage to the screwball comedies of Classic Hollywood. I personally never saw any others. Going by this movie I may like them.

The films main plot is about four identical briefcases and the mix up shenanigans that go down.

The comedy in this movie is great. The fast talking wordplay jokes, some physical humor and absurd situations all come together as all of it is well acted and directed. The way all the characters bounce…

    The DCOM Saga Chapter 19

Starstruck is the first DCOM of it's kind to stir up such strong feelings in me. The only thing holding it back from being the only is You Lucky Dog. This only makes me fear for when I watch the later DCOMs.

The chemistry in this is pretty bad. The two leads only had like one actually good moment and it was during the frickin' montage. You could argue that the chemistry between the sisters…

    Australian New Wave

Starstruck has a really simple plot but it's one where you don't really care. It's just a bunch of musical set pieces that are aesthetically cool and have super fly fashion set to sweet-ass music with inbetween moments of lovable characters that's super Australian. It's all really upbeat. It's a good musical with a simple plot meant to justify all the actual cool shit. So I recommend it for that.

    Australian New Wave

Bruce Beresford has a really weird career from what I've seen of his works and what other works he's made. You got a movie that's kind of a knockoff of Picnic At Hanging Rock in The Getting Of Wisdom (emphasis on kind of, it's a decent movie), a deconstruction of teen films in Puberty Blues and his most famous in Driving Miss Daisy which while I haven't seen, it gets weirder thinking about what I've heard. According…
