    Like the last one, kind of felt like they had all of the elements for something amazing but ending up with something….pretty dang good.

    Also like the last one, I hate the Danny McBride infused dialogue/humor. Overall I feel like DGG doesn’t have the timing/knack for suspense, which is very hard to do well, so this didn’t raise my pulse at all.

    Damn, what an absolute masterpiece. I’d seen bits and pieces of the end but can’t believe it took me this long to finally watch it.

    This is why I love the movies, folks. What a tour de force. That opening shot in the prom is like an all timer! And the performances…don’t even get me started.

    Need to watch a good film print or HD version cause what they have on shudder is pretty low quality :(

    I could just feel the enthusiasm and energy in this one. Nobody was phoning it in. The cinematography, direction, editing, set design, all very polished but still so damn grimy and disgusting.

    A real love letter to horror, James Wan is basically a kid in a toy store here, but it doesn’t feel derivative to me at all.

    James Wan is truly a maestro. One of the best of his era. He wont get a ton of love from the critics but he’s amazing at his craft and clearly pushing his limits and trying new things. There were some jaw dropping shots and set pieces here.
