Caught this nearby at an independent art-house theater!
This was awesome. The movie is a blend of many many, oddly unique things, genres, and feelings all captured hilariously like nothing else I’ve ever seen before. But above all it already has to be downright one of the funniest movies I’ve seen this year and in a long time for that case.
As a satire and a beautifully looking one at that (literally look no further then at that highly saturated and brightly exposed color palette), it surprisingly has a lot to say about the lost modern-identity amidst the picket fence life, and the colors even perfectly juxtapose all that with the true gritty reality of all the sad and sometimes even dark confliction that can lie in its nature coming forth behind from all the fake picture esque smiles that the bright neon world and its odd characters are filled with.
Had a great time and it was actually super exciting to watch with a big and responsive audience. Giving out so many high scores but I simply couldn’t deny it any score lower than this because of how I felt. Overjoyed, I just absolutely loved it and all it’s peculiarities and I know it will be amazing to revisit over and over down the line. Greener Grass is a delightfully weird suburbia story that’s stylized sense is perfection.
