Loved this for the most part, but... is this advocating blind religious faith even when all the evidence suggests horrible crimes are being done in God's name? Is this saying that religious doubt is ultimately the first step on the slippery path to becoming a serial killer?

    Cuz.... that's problematic, fam.

Keifer Sutherland's David was one of my first boy crushes as a kid. Very formative.

Things from this movie that live in my head rent free: "Cry Little Sister" and "People are Strange", greasy saxophone Fabio, the gross "eating maggots" scene, the way each vampire dies in its own special and dramatic way, and one of the best last lines of a movie ever.

This is a rare example of Joel Schumacher using his kitsch-camp powers for good. The original corny teen vampire romance. So much fun.

Watching Peacemaker on HBO Max gave me a hankering to watch this one again. It was even better than I remembered.

My first exposure to Christian Bale came in the form of his Batman in the Dark Knight movies, where he plays a fairly vanilla leading man type. I had no idea how insanely talented he really is 'til I saw this for the first time as a teen.

This movie is absolutely hilarious and completely horrifying while also having some real shit to say. It has aged like a fine wine, has a cast that has only grown more impressive over the decades, and has the best ironic use of licensed music this side of Reservoir Dogs. A masterpiece.

My absolute favorite holiday film. It is almost difficult to talk objectively about this film and what makes it great, because it is so deeply, nostalgically entwined with my childhood and my identity. This movie is pure comfort cinema for me. Watching it is like curling up under a safety blanket. This is one of those movies that, if I were to watch it for the first time today, I would say feels like it was made for me. But,…
