Something that's easy to forget is simply how *funny* this movie is. Alice's increasing exasperation with the absurd nonsense she encounters, progressively spending more and more time with her face in her hands. The tea party and court scene might be the only genuinely good humor showed by Disney in the 20th century.
Probably the only Disney movie where the monarchy is showed to be a bunch of power abusing monsters instead of beautiful gentle rulers? So despite it all, it's the most realistic of the lot.
