Finally dropping my new short film.

Been pretty absent on Litter box lately. What you see here, folks, is the reason why.

Last summer I put some personal difficulties, the free time that quarantine allowed, and my wonderful and lucky resource of passionate family and friends into making something that would be a benchmark for me, in terms of filmmaking. The film is pretty personal, and it’s certainly…

    The Tenant

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

God, I am obsessed with this movie. The Tenant explores some of the most interesting and unnerving ideas I have seen in a horror film. It’s the first film I have seen in a long time that has inspired me to write this long of a review, so.

The Tenant is a gothic Kafka tale of urban alienation and oppression. It’s about the fatal lines between diplomacy, assimilation, and self-suppression. At what point does harmlessly trying to fit in with…

Such a badass and inspiring flick. Jordan and his boys are savages and just give no fucks, and it’s so funny and sick and inspiring. That’s it, im moving to Wall Street 😎

    Love Streams

Great moments scattered throughout, but monstrously bloated, narratively nonsensical, and disappointingly emotionally obscure. All of Cassavetes movies and characters feel like relative messes, but theres typically an emotional cohesion that links these chaotic expressions together. Not found here. What a fackin joke. My rating is both me being generous and me in denial. This will be bumped down to a 2.5.

    Edit: there it is

    Doctor Sleep

This movie is genuinely one of the worst films I have seen in a long time. Eh, maybe ever. I am shocked at this films reception. I mean come on. The film is either doing an annoying, laughable, unnecessary, and cheap impression of Kubrick’s film, or it’s being its own thing, and when its being it’s own thing it is just laughably bad and cliche. The villains are so indescribably cartoony and over the top. I honestly can’t believe they…

    The Lighthouse

    World premiere.

What a way to end my week at the festival.

Pattinson and Dafoe give career-defining performances, going toe-to-toe as they slowly descend into madness amongst the elements, isolation, and a number of abstract mysteries/forces, in Eggers chilling and atmospheric nautical nightmare. The atmosphere that Eggers creates is absolutely haunting, with the beautifully stark black and white photography, which to me was sometimes reminiscent of what I saw in Bergman’s HOUR OF THE WOLF, the menacingly overpowering and…
