Victor Dubyna’s review published on Letterboxd:
Diary Entry #1000
For my 1000th entry I was struggling with what film to pick. Is it Satatango time? Am I gunna meme it and pick a trash film? A rewatch of my favourite film? A rewatch of the first film I logged on this site (The 400 Blows)? I decided to be uncontrived and just see what the vibe was, and watch what I felt like watching. I went with an incredibly overdue rewatch of this all time favourite. I don’t love it quite as much as I did when I first made Letterboxd, as it’d probably be in my top 30 back in 2017. But she’s still a certified slapper and one of the films that really got me interested and excited about film. Boyle’s style is wonderfully 90s and very stimulating, and the colourful characters are just as entertaining as I remembered. The soundtrack has no business going off like that too. Anyways, I’ll keep this short. Thanks everybody for reading, commenting, etc. I love you all and cherish the connections, big or small, that I have made on this site. Heres to a thousand more!
