Max Holmes’s review published on Letterboxd:
The quintessential spy satire, as to call it parody would be a great disservice. Myers screenplay is flat out hilarious. Viewing from a slightly more mature perspective, I found new aspects to enjoy: the Lorne Michaels impersonation, my first exposure to the music of Orange Juice frontman Edwyn Collins, the cinematography of master Peter Deming, and many more. This viewing did reveal a slight lack of substance, but I often forgive this due to the excellent character development in the sequel.
