Becky Something’s review published on Letterboxd:
“The future is just like you imagined.”
The end of the world won’t ever make sense. There’s seemingly a new thesis, a new idea, a new theme, and a new offense in every moment of Southland Tales. It’s a film so saturated with a uniquely stupid and bold cinematic ambition I couldn’t not totally fall in love with it. Quite possibly intolerable in a way I’ll realize a day or a week or a month or a year from now. But in this moment I can’t really not surrender to the insanity.
The future becomes the present, the present becomes a headline, and pimps never commit suicide. These are the rules we made you stupid bitch. Strange Days never end.
