    Well crafted, with a great Ingrid Bergman, shortly before her arrival in Hollywood, though it strangely feels less complete than the 1941 remake with Joan Crawford. I wish I could explain it better... Not sure how much seeing this before the 1941 version would have helped. Still, I'm glad I watched it, if just to see Ingrid Bergman in an early Swedish film.

    PS: It was nice to see Hilda Borgstrom in another movie after she first caught my eye in The Phantom Carriage.
