Oh boy. This was bad. Which is strange cause I enjoyed Bloodshot and Tomorrow War which are equally goofy but in this case they were—fun! This however was not. I’m not a fan of the video games as I’ve never played them but my sister is and she couldn’t get past 30mins of this. We weren’t the biggest fans of Anderson’s horrid version of Resident Evil movie series. So I honestly wasn’t expecting much here.
I mean where to start? the editing is dog shit. Just busted completely. I don’t even remember the story and the cgi was a puke fest. Don’t get me wrong I love Milla Jovovich but she is not a good actor. It’s obvious that this husband and wife duo are just making another video game adaptation while sucking everything that makes it remotely entertaining. Hoping to bank on Jovovich’s name to bring in money. That’s all it is. Nothing about the story or lore from the games. As a rookie I would’ve loved to learn about the series here which might've been a good starting point. But sadly they care more about your money cuz they think you love poorly executed films mashed with the worst of 90s cliches. Why make a film if the effort is nonexistent...why? Oh yes money.
If you like their hokey Resident Evil films. No doubt you’ll definitely love this. But if the rest of you all want something with more quality try Love & Monsters or just see the third Riddick film. They at least have awesome survival scenes along with actual stories. I’ll leave off with this: if there’s anymore video game films being made keep these two a country mile away from them. For god’s sake.
