Ryan Davis’s review published on Letterboxd:
Rewatched for an upcoming Hardly the Hottest Carey Mulligan episode.
Hadn’t seen it since my initial 2009 viewing in theaters. Like David, didn’t age real well. The whimsical tone fits a naive girl falling in love with an exploitative, older man but then the film fails to strike any gravity when it turns. That light touch feels off toward the end.
Baby Carey is impressive though.
