Beanpole ★★½

Its laborious to get to the humanity behind the garish greens, sickly oranges, and complete abject suffering.

It's not that the color palette, pain, or film was not well made or acted. But whatever connection that was supposed to be made between the characters and their anguish and then to us never materializes.

The disconnected hurt might have been the point, but that soulless element was tiring.
