Robert Eggers sophomore film The Lighthouse is a descent into madness. It follows an untrustworthy lead character played by Robert Pattinson who is stuck taking care of a lighthouse with an equally untrustworthy character played by Willem Dafoe. The film is unnerving and raw.
Both actors shine in their roles. Their names mean nothing. Their words mean nothing. What is a dream and what isn’t does not matter. The only that that matters are their actions.
