Enjoyed this a lot more than I had expected to. There are a lot of movies that deal with the idea addiction, and some not as well as others. This one falls somewhere in between, I honestly just could’ve done without the dead kid aspect I felt like that was too much.
However, that being said I want to commend this movie for focusing more on the idea of outlets. Alcohol and drugs can be used as an outlet for dealing with pain, but the fact is there are better outlets out there. Coaching is the better outlet for Jack and he comes to realize this, yet it is the addiction that holds him back from a better more productive outlet. This conversation the film is having allowed for it to fall more into the positive for me as a whole.
