While the Golden Globe for Olivia Coleman was no doubt deserved, the true star of the film was the fantastic palace. Seeing the inhabited corridors and rooms on the big screen was a treat, especially because of the frequent use of wide angle shots.
The comedy was fresh and well placed, yet the performances were excellent enough to keep the true sad nature of the story alive.
Shout-out to Horatio, the fastest duck in town. Also those working on the Downton Abbey movie should take note because this is how you do a historical period film.
