You know an actor is good when they’re known for having funny roles, but can take on serious roles effortlessly as well. That is exactly what Steve Carell did here. The message about the effects of drugs and addiction goes a long way, and was really well executed

I remember watching this in school a long time ago. I remember it being an emotional movie with a heartbreaking ending. My original rating was 3.5 stars, but that does this movie no justice. I feel so broken after rewatching it because of how a simple happy life was stripped from innocent people, and despite the harsh circumstances, Guido protected his son from everything. I love how the same cast was used to film this over the course of 12 years. The actors aged with the story, which makes it seem so much more real and genuine. I’ve heard great things about this movie before watching it, and I wasn’t disappointed

The way pain is expressed throughout this movie is captivating. The calm mood and setting mixed perfectly with the chaotic and gloomy events. Great acting by Casey Affleck as well

Having watched Rear Window, I have to say this didn’t live up to the original. The only way to describe this movie would be watchable, since it’s not unbearably bad, and slightly interesting. The acting was ok, nothing special. My advice would be to just rewatch Rear Window instead of watching this
