As seriously as films like All About Eve take themselves, they'll always remind me of The Purple Rose of Cairo's fake movie: Laughably false, terribly shot, convoluted, overly dramatic, and totally detached from reality. An older foreigner, some British accents, and rich people are also usually featured. These are observations that lessen All About Eve by association with this genre, not because of the film itself.
