Lars-Arne’s review published on Letterboxd:
If I wanted to watch photo realistic animals move in real time I'd (gladly) watch a David Attenborough documentary. If I wanted to to watch a tired lion by the name Scar move restless in place while attempting a rather sad spoken word version of "Be Prepared" I'd --- well, I'd rather not.
This is bland. There's no spark. There's no life. Characters are all annoying. Everything is dragging without actually providing any fleshed out story. There are no stylistic decisions to anchor it all either. Every cartoonish aspect of the original is removed, which is fine, it is, but if you don't compensate by adding something new, what's the point?
Disney has a chokehold on media and our culture and that's not a hyperbole.
Also this was boring af
