How they decided on this as the title... I have no klute!
Beverly D'Angelo channeling Patsy Cline is worth the price of admission. The gal can sing! Sissy Spacek is also great, lending charm and authenticity to her portrayal of Loretta Lynn.
That said, the beginning is rough. It was a bad move to not cast younger versions of the two main characters. The makeup department tried to shave a decade off Tommy Lee Jones by powdering his face, thickening his eyelashes, and dying his hair orange—but he ends up looking more like a half-assed Joker than a fresh-faced kid. Once they lay off Jones's mascara and the characters' ages tracks closer to the actors, it gets better.
