Grant He’s review published on Letterboxd:
Of all the movies to have appropriated the "Once Upon a Time" title, none has explored the concept of storytelling itself as genuinely and accurately as Tarantino's Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. The film's deliberately jarring cuts, noticeably dead-end tangents, and dearth of exploring the whys by concentrating on the whats mirror the flow of an actual person's account of events. Leonardo DiCaprio puts on an astoundingly assured performance, and everything clicks in the final title reveal. It's simply Rick Dalton relating to neighbors his crazy tale from once upon a time... in Hollywood.
