I honestly feel like there's a great movie buried I'm here somewhere. I do think the climax is pretty incredible and maybe with better direction the whole film could've had the same energy.
But anyways shoutout to Jane Levy and whoever mixed the sound on this because great job on both parts
This is a weird one and maybe it needs to grow on me.
The plot is slow but also somehow hard to follow, but it has some beautiful animation moments.
Nothing is really set up or paid off, magic is apparently a thing in this universe but nothing magic related ever happens. Not saying I needed this to be some grand adventure but at the end I feel like what I'm left with is a movie that is cute and…

I love the whole 'having an existential crisis while buying groceries' thing this has going for it. The songs are undoubtedly the best part of it, I like the sound on Jack's music generally and the lyrics to these are pretty funny and interesting.
With that said the animation and character design turned me off, just a little., this really wasn't a problem to me at all on Opal(which I liked way more btw) but…
Esthetically I really love everything about this(the cinematography, soundtrack, wardrobe etc.) And that along with some pretty funny dialog carries most of the film for me.
With that said Oliver is such a prick and I can't stand him(neither are any side characters really that likeable on their own).
I also find the plot to be largely uninteresting and that really keeps me from fully enjoying it the way I expected to
This film is...pretty alright.
Obvious things first, the lighting, colors and set design on this thing are all pretty incredible(this director is pretty clearly really horny for red, which i appreciate as a red enjoyer myself), and go really well with a great soundtrack(although the music does feel kinda awkwardly inserted at some points).
Unfortunately the whole thing really didn't live up to the hype for me.
The plot/overall mystery is just really not that unique or fulfilling really, and…
