    At the start of the year, I read Joyce Carol Oates’ Blonde and found it to be a monumental piece of work. Both as a deep-dive into the inner life and fate of Marilyn Monroe as well as a period of American cinema (and well also, a good hype-up for the upcoming adaptation). Needless to say, it’s a partially fictionalized book but the story about making Niagara made me curious to check out this film, as one of Monroe’s non-comedies.…

    The third Bugs Bunny-short is also the last of the 30s and one of the last before we finally get Bug's "real" design. Similar to Bugs' debut, this isn't a great short and moreso a fascinating study of the visual evolution. Aside from proto-Bugs we have a bland hunter (looking nothing like Elmer Fudd) chasing Bugs because... The meat prices are so high? Needless to say, it's very similar to the first.
