• The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

    The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Its weird to call this low budget, rinky-dink, redneck, B-movie, dirty 70s slasher flick a “masterpiece”…

But yeah…this is a dirty masterpiece man. It feels so amateurish, but every now and then you get these extremely polished moments that reassure you that everything is intentional. This is why I think this movie has some of the best cinematography and Direction i’ve ever seen. Maybe i’m being too generous, but the Bad Acting weird pacing, and open story just makes the pinpoint direction all the more impressive.

    Black Christmas

If this counts as a horror movie, then its easily top 5 of its genre.

So beautiful, so subtle, and it has one of the greatest endings i’ve ever seen. Some of the most subtle direction i’ve ever seen in a “horror” movie, and even though the performances aren’t AMAZING, they didn’t need to be

I WAS gonna come on here and talk about how this is the “greatest horror film of all time”….

But i think its more surprising that this is a “found footage” movie that’s actually GOOD.

    Great Movie, but luster lost.

Ofc its a classic but its just not quite as interesting as it used to be.

Really hard for me to view this as a horror movie, but yeah…its amazing.

  • Yojimbo

This movie has better action sequences than almost any superhero film lol.

Ngl, this is the first Kurosawa film that i actually liked, but it was pretty fantastic. Even for 1961 the cinematography was really interesting, and it didn’t have the bs Hollywood acting that was prevalent at the time. The story was actually very simple, but it had many complex aspects that kept unfolding throughout the duration. Also most of the action was in frame, interesting (especially for the time), and most importantly, NOT ******* CHOPPED TO BITS!! And the score is a straight bucket.

Niggas really be hating bruh. I don’t get it.

This very well could be the best Disney Princess movie. Everything about this movie is better than its “peers”… the stakes, the characters, the songs, the animation, the story….everything. My only problem is that the exposition was way too fast, but it doesn’t the really matter, because the rest of the film is nearly perfect. Also, props to this films director for creating a Disney movie that doesn’t fall flat in the last act.

    Yea its a good movie…

But the idea that this is anywhere close to being a “Top 100 Film of All Time” is laughable to me.

    Very Nearly Mind Blowing…

This movie is a gem. Roman Polanski is a masterful director. Too bad that nigga is a pedophile.

  • Aladdin

This is the first time ive ever watched this, so my perception of it isn’t clouded by nostalgia…

And im surprised. This movie…which is about nothing interesting…ends up doing nothing interesting. There’s really nothing to like about this movie for me. Obviously Disney Princess movies are going to be predictable, but this one uses the Disney Formula in such an uninteresting way, that this 90 minutes film felt like 2 1/2 hours.
I gotta say…this movie is trash. Pretty much every other Disney Princess movie is better than this one. Seriously.

    Catch Me If You Can

As much as i love dragging Spielburg, i gotta admit…this one is a banger.

He got great performances out everybody involved in this film. Its a 2 1/2 hour film that feels like 90 minutes, because the pacing is out of this world. The direction is so sharp and the music elevates everything so much. Hit the nail on the head here man…

    2001: A Space Odyssey

Obviously its still a phenomenal piece of art….

But I just dont really see it as “a top 5 movie ever” anymore.
One of the greatest “American” movies ever? Yea, sure i guess…but its lost a bit of luster for me.

The “enjoyment factor” of this film has always been quite low, but for me, i find the story of the monoliths, and HAL as a character (2 monumental aspects of the legacy of this film) to be quite overrated.…
