Clerk at a Hollywood agency. If I log a new release, it's probably work-related.

I keep replaying the infamous scene in my head. Hearing Isabelle Adjani scream and flail in the subway tunnel. It's a raw power that no combination of words could do justice to describe. Director Andrzej Zulawski told Adjani that he wanted her "to fuck the air." To think of the scene as symbolic of her making love to the very Earth itself. Reflecting on Adjani's uncompromising performance, Zulawski said "I was more a witness than a director."

    3 Women

The feminine id, ego, and superego in submerged in a blue pool of psychosexual violence. That’s the most concise way I can boil down the essence of 3 Women into a single sentence. It's a masterpiece of dreamlike atmosphere.

Bodhi Wind's grotesque sand paintings are characters in their own right. The pools are a perfect visual and symbolic companion for 3 Women's desert setting. If you look hard enough, you'll find an immense beauty under the surface of desolation.

    A Wedding

This is why all marriage should be illegal.

Kinda like the wedding version of Day For Night. A comedy of manners that satirizes a marriage between an old money family and a new money one. Huge ensemble cast with Carol Burnett outshining them all as the mother of the bride.

Lots of Altman's signature style elements are here - intersecting plot lines, tracking shots, overlapping dialogue, and a skewering of social mores. Gotta love how Altman's self-insert character is the…

  • Devs

Fully believe that Devs would get tepid praise at best had it been made by anyone not named Alex Garland.

This is the first show to be released under the "FX on Hulu" banner. It was produced by FX but goes straight to Hulu and cannot be watched anywhere else. Which means that after giving Garland full creative control, FX decided his show still wasn’t good enough for the airwaves.

For context, Lil’ Dicky’s sitcom debuted a few hours before…

    Little Fires Everywhere

Exhausting in the way it panders to those wealthy, Warren-loving NPR bluechecks. The ones who think Green Book had no business winning Best Picture but still can't understand what’s so funny about the line “I would have voted for Obama a third time if I could!”

Beats you over the head with a very subtle message of: “Hey white people! Wanna know what your Black friends REALLY say about you when you’re not around? Well it turns out you’re complicit…
