While the general narrative is pretty predictable (including 'The Twist©'), there's a few nice small twists and turns that kept it fresh throughout the second half by rebalancing the 'good guy/bad guy' dynamics with interesting motivations.
I really appreciate that MEW looked like an absolute wreck by the end of the film. I love when the protagonist is visibly wearing all the trauma at the climax. She didn't shrug it off or keep fighting the same, her movements looked painful and exhausting. Every injury and every obstacle was thoughtfully written.
