Solid debut but still a debut. Here and there some surprising scenes that did not always fit into the whole. Once again proof that Colman is one of the best actresses on this planet.

    The Shrink Next Door

How is it possible that this con man was allowed to run rampant for 30 years... Now and then the protagonists get on your nerves so much that you want to give them a good beating and that says enough I think.

Casey Affleck rip off or J.Hillcoat The Road yields a much less successful film. Apparently, Affleck likes to hear himself busy with lengthy monologues that really add little to the film. It is waiting until the end of the film until hell really breaks loose and it becomes really exciting. The copy is worse than the original, but this could have been much worse, so deserving but move on please.

    Ad Astra

James Gray's Ad Astra was a long-term job, but it was more than worth it. Despite the small concessions to the Hollywood public to boost the action level here and there, Brad Pitt's search for his long-lost father is one long philosophical treatise on our place in the universe and the search for other intelligent life. It is a damn slow film that requires your full attention. If he joins the list of the masterpieces of Kubrick and Scott that will tell the future. Only to be seen in the cinema room, otherwise you will miss the greatness of editing and photography.
