Rewatched. Undoubtedly one of my favorite films of all time and Wes’s most underrated project to date. As I’ve articulated many times, character is the most important element of a story. And I find Steve Zissou to be Wes’s most interesting—he’s an oceanographer, a filmmaker, a ghost of his former self.
